My Commitment
I want this website to be usable by as many people as possible. Accessibility is not an afterthought here. It is part of how the site is built, from the ground up.
What This Site Does
Semantic HTML
Every page uses proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions (header, nav, main, footer), and meaningful HTML elements. Screen readers can navigate by headings, sections, and links.
Keyboard Navigation
All pages include a "Skip to content" link that becomes visible on focus. Every interactive element (links, buttons, the mobile menu) is reachable and operable with a keyboard alone. No mouse required.
Screen Readers
Navigation menus include ARIA labels. Buttons describe their purpose. The language attribute is set on every page so screen readers use the correct pronunciation for English and French content.
Contrast
Text and background color combinations are chosen to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA contrast ratios (at least 4.5:1 for body text). The warm color palette is designed to maintain readability across all sections.
Responsive Design
The site works on screens of all sizes. Text scales with browser zoom settings. Layouts adapt without requiring horizontal scrolling.
Known Limitations
This site has not been formally audited by a third-party accessibility specialist. I have applied accessibility best practices throughout, but there may be gaps I have not caught yet.
If you encounter something that does not work for you, I genuinely want to know about it.
